The Guest Cat | By Takashi Hiraide

Title: The Guest Cat
Author: Takashi Hiraide
Translator: Eric Selland

Another Japanese cat-related book checked off my reading list! The story is precise and beautifully constructed. It is simple yet deep and warm.

Chibi was so well portrayed that I felt like she was a character in the story. Japanese literature is something else; I love and enjoy its writing because it gives you a sense of peace and calm while also pulling at your emotions with such force that you are left feeling transformed. This is a deeply moving poetry story, for sure, cat lovers could be especially affected.

Though this was a fast read, my takeaway is to enjoy the little things in life while they last!
